Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Jonathan Chernoff, MD, PhD, Cancer Center Director, was recently elected to one of the nation’s most prestigious medical organizations, the Association of American Physicians (AAP).

Physicians at Fox Chase Cancer Center have begun accepting patients for a new clinical trial looking at the effectiveness of a hepatic artery infusion (HAI) pump along with standard chemotherapy. Fox Chase is the only local hospital offering this trial, which is designed for patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver and cannot be treated with surgery.

One hundred and forty-two Fox Chase Cancer Center physicians have been named to Philadelphia magazine’s “Top Doctors” list for 2025. Physicians on the list were nominated by a national survey of their professional peers.

The Cancer Epigenetics Institute (CEI) at Fox Chase Cancer Center will present new data at a workshop sponsored by biomodal, an omics-based life sciences technology and analytics company, during the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting, which is being held April 25-30 in Chicago.

Fox Chase Cancer Center nurses participated in presentations and discussions of a number of research projects at the 50th Annual Oncology Nursing Society Congress, which was held on April 9-13 in Denver.

PHILADELPHIA (April 3, 2025) — Histone lysine demethylases, or KDMs, were first documented in 2004 in a groundbreaking study that led to new understandings about the genetic mechanisms of cancer and other diseases. Now, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have marked the 20th anniversary of this landmark discovery with a new paper in the prestigious journal Cell that reviews two decades of research and advances.
